Big Lottery Fund (BIG)
Every year BIG gives out millions of pounds from the National Lottery to good causes. Our money goes to community groups and to projects that improve health, education and the environment.

Our grateful thanks to the BIG Lottery Fund for their support of this work

The first five years of the Food for Life Partnership was funded by £16.9 million from the BIG Lottery Fund, the largest distributor of National Lottery good cause funding. BIG’s support for the partnership comes from its £165m Well-being programme, which provides funding to support the development of healthier lifestyles and to improve well-being. Full details of the work of the Big Lottery Fund, its programmes and awards are available on the website: www.biglotteryfund.org.uk

This funding allowed us to establish the programme and build a highly successful, independently evaluated model working with over 4,300 schools throughout England. In 2012, FFLP were awarded a further £1 million from BIG Lottery to assist in our transition to a locally commissioned model.

The Food for Life Partnership is a network of schools and communities across England committed to transforming food culture. Together we are revolutionising school meals, reconnecting children and young people with where their food comes from, and inspiring families to grow and cook food.
