Barleylands Farm
Location: Barleylands Farm, Barleylands Road, Billericay
Postcode: CM11 2UD
Set in the Essex countryside and on the doorstep of London, Barleylands brings the curriculum to life through a variety of workshops which will give children a better understanding of where their food comes from and its journey from field to fork.
Children have the opportunity to interact with our animals, learning about the importance of animal welfare. Visit crops and find out the familiar foodstuffs they turn into, identify seeds and gain knowledge of farming in the UK. No visit to Barleylands would be complete without preparing and cooking a healthy snack from scratch, using ingredients which they have seen on the farm.
We really are the ideal outdoor classroom. A visit to Barleylands is fun, safe and educational.
CEVAS trained staff will lead the day and our knowledgeable team are very happy to liaise with teachers before they visit and create a bespoke day to fit in with any area of the curriculum. We can link our food an farming days to the Victorians, World War Two, the Tudors and much more.
