FFLP welcomes School Food Review
4 July 2012 - The Food for Life Partnership welcomes the news that the Department for Education has commissioned an independent review of school food by Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent of Leon restaurants.
We are pleased that the review recognises the importance of providing food education alongside good food in schools.
Providing good food through a robust school meals service and equipping children with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their own health and well-being are key to addressing the health and inequality issues we are facing.
The Food for Life Partnership has developed ways of working with primary and secondary school partners to transform food culture and we look forward to sharing this evidence and practice with the review team.
