Grandparents help children to grow veggies
Children at Haydonleigh Primary School have received special support to get their organic growing off the ground – from their grandparents.
Grow food in your community
Not everyone has the knowledge, confidence or space to grow their own crops. Growing as a group within the community has the advantage of bringing together a wide range of people offering a variety of skills and experience. A community garden provides a haven where people of different cultures and generations can share a growing space and develop a great sense of community solidarity and belonging.
Growing fresh organic produce in a community garden can also provide people with an affordable range of nutritious seasonal food that they may not normally be able to obtain. There are a number of organisations who provide help, guidance and training to enable communities to set up their own gardens.
Local Groups
Garden Organic has an extensive network of local groups. Local groups provide an opportunity to socialise with like-minded people, learn more about organic gardening and a range of related topics, visit places of interest, help spread the organic message and support Garden Organic.
