The Food for Life Partnership programme model is now available for local commissioning and we are already working with a number of Local Authorities in England to support their Health & Wellbeing priorities.
Why commission the Food for Life Partnership?
It is evidence-based: The Food for Life Partnership has a tried and tested model, piloted and developed over five years with BIG Lottery funding. Read the independent evidence.
It improves health and wellbeing of children and their families: Independent evaluation demonstrates that our programme supports all six recommendations from the Marmot Review. It is proven to be particularly effective in disadvantaged communities.
It successfully engages schools: We have a strong track record in school engagement as our programme tackles school improvement priorities alongside improving pupil health and wellbeing.
It is built on an existing network: With over 4,500 schools already enrolled, we already have engagement in every local authority. Every region can benefit from the mentorship of our existing 'flagship' schools.
It engages caterers: Our success in engaging caterers is demonstrated by the fact that more than 600,000 school meals a day are now accredited by the Food for Life Catering Mark.
It is a successful partnership: Our national partnership of four charities can flexibly accommodate new partner organisations at a local level and puts us in a strong position to engage schools and families signing up for Change4Life.
We are already commissioned: We are already working with Lincolnshire, Calderdale, Devon, Warwickshire, Kirklees, Bath & North East Somerset and Cornwall, Cambridgeshire and Derbyshire to tackle the causes of childhood obesity in these areas.
