That the Food for Life Partnership exists to support, challenge us to do better, and champion our achievements is wonderful, it is having fantastic impact on our school.

Supporting your school
The Food for Life Partnership programme and award scheme is a practical way to help your pupils be healthy and to involve parents in the life of the school, with all the benefits that this brings for pupil attainment. It links directly to the National Curriculum and to a range of diverse initiatives with which many schools are already involved. But the Food for Life Partnership isn’t just one more scheme to cram into the school curriculum; it is a mechanism to support and bring together these often disparate initiatives. The Partnership helps schools gain recognition in all of them. Schools that are already involved in the scheme have highlighted value-added benefits including:
- Improved pupil wellbeing, health and learning
- Improved pupil participation, pupil voice and enhanced pupil leadership
- Improved skills development around growing, cooking, enterprise and healthy living
- Improved school meal services demonstrated by higher take-up
- Better and more creative links between schools and their local communities
- Support for other national school initiatives
- Reduced climate impact of food served in schools
What can we offer?
Working with your school, we can provide help, advice and expertise as you progress through the Food for Life Partnership programme. We can’t always promise that it will be an easy journey, and you will need to be committed and enthusiastic, but we do promise that the rewards – the positive impact on the children and staff in your school – will be well worth the effort. We want to work with you as a partnership as you work towards changing your school’s food culture. We can offer:

When you join the Food for Life Partnership you will automatically have access to our advice line. You can call or email us for general advice and we also have a dedicated email service to deal with specific enquiries about the award scheme.
You will have access to our national and regional networks that mean you will be able to contact other schools for help and advice. Our regional coordinators can also provide you with support and
may even pop in to your school to meet you and see how you’re getting on.
Flagship schools
Flagship schools act as ambassadors for the programme, sharing good practice with other schools, demonstrating what they have learned and encouraging participation. You will be able to take
advantage of what flagship schools in your area can offer – whether it’s attending a workshop or event, or working collaboratively towards an award.
We run FREE workshops on all areas of the Food for Life Partnership programme. These events are designed to support your progress, giving you the confidence and ability to make the programme
work in your school.
