Flagship Schools and Communities
By 2012, we will have selected 180 Flagship Schools based on their commitment and enthusiasm to improve food culture in the school and in the wider community.
Flagship Schools must be willing to take the fast track towards our Gold Mark award and share their learning with other schools and communities.
We recruit 6 schools in each region per year - see below to find out where we are currently recruiting...

Flagship Schools recruitment basics
All schools interested in becoming Flagships Schools must join the Food for Life Partnership and begin working towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Mark.
By joining, your school will automatically be considered when we are recruiting Flagship Schools in your region.
You will be given your very own school page in the In Your Region section this site where you can record your progress against the Mark criteria, share information about your school and maintain a blog on your activity. During the selection process, we review all the information on these school pages.
We’re looking for a wide range of schools and it is not necessary to have met all the criteria to be considered as a potential Flagship School. We consider commitment, enthusiasm and a keen caterer as vital ingredients!
So join now if you want to become one of our 180 Flagship Schools!
Only maintained primary and secondary schools (not sixth form colleges) in England are eligible to become Flagship Schools. Independent schools can enrol on our award scheme.
