  • We've got started!

    Since half term and because of a grant from Rossendale Council's Green Partnership Award of £400, we have now got our composting bin and the boys compost food and paper most days. We have got 2 raised beds  built and thanks to the amazing offers at Lidl this week have bought tools, a plastic greenhouse, cloches, plant covers and fruit trees. Most exciting of all we have got our chickens! They are three bantam hens named by the boys Little, Cheeky and Betty and our little Bantam cockerel Charlie. They are housed in a night ark that we can move around on the grass and the girls have already laid two eggs, one today, one yesterday. The eggs are half the size of a normal hen's egg, but we are hoping that we will have enough eggs by next tuesday to make the batter for pancakes!
