Development Team

Our Development Team work closely with local authorities, public health teams and Clinical Commissioning groups to develop and support Food for Life programme in local areas.

With extensive experience in the sustainable catering sector, the team support catering providers to make changes to the food they serve and achieve Food for Life Served Here certification.  

Helping to strengthen their position as providers of great food that customers can trust and championing their food story.

In over 18 years working for Soil Association, Caron has supported caterers to achieve Food for Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standard. She is based in the North of England but leads the team nationally to develop both certifications and client experience. She has a background in catering, and previously worked as a chef in various workplace restaurants before joining Soil Association to develop the organic market working with farmers, producers, and citizens.

Sophie also takes the lead on our work within the leisure sector, our work on Cool Food Pro and developing national accounts.

Taking a lead on education settings, Sophie works with school and university caterers to ensure they get the most out of their Sustainable Catering Award.

Rose spent over 15 years working in the hospitality industry, working everywhere from pubs, cafés and music venues before moving to children’s catering. This background has given her widespread knowledge of the sector which is vital when supporting our caterers with Food For Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standard. She started at the Soil Association in 2021, first in Certification and then joining Food For Life Served Here in 2022. Rose is based in the South East and leads on Early Years settings.

Gay works with local authorities and multi academy trusts to bring eating, growing, and cooking good food to every child. With a background in nutrition and working with local food markets in Bristol, Gay is a passionate believer that everyone should have access to healthy and sustainable food wherever and whoever they are and has been on a mission to achieve this with Food for Life since 2018.

Tayler Maggs

Tayler is the Development Officer at Food for Life. Working 2.5 days a week, Tayler manages our monthly Served Here newsletter and any events. She also provides day-to-day & project support to the Business Development team and is a key point of contact for all Served Here and Green Kitchen Standards data related queries.

Sarah coordinates Soil Association Scotland’s Food for Life Scotland programme. The Food for Life Scotland team help local authorities across Scotland to get fresh, Scottish, sustainable food onto school dinner plates, by supporting them to achieve the Food for Life Served Here award for their school meals service.
