Roast Dinner Day 2019
Roast Dinner Day is the first Food for Life Get Together event. It takes place on Wednesday 13 November 2019, and is a national day for schools, nurseries and communities to enjoy growing, cooking and eating together.
Everyone who registers to host a Roast Dinner Day will receive great Food for Life Get Togethers resource pack including bunting, posters, invitation templates and flyers, plus lots more! The resources will be available from September.
How can I take part?
Hosting a Roast Dinner Celebration is simple. All you need to do is invite folk of different ages for lunch, into your school, nursery, community centre or wherever you like to enjoy a roast dinner together.
What if I don't want to have a roast dinner?
Hosting a roast not for you? That's fine, why not chose a different meal that brings people together in your community. Or get everyone to bring a dish that means something to them.
Why Wednesday 13th November?
Wednesday 13 November is half way through National School Meals Week - a great time to celebrate school food. Wednesday is also when most schools have a roast dinner for lunch. If you'd like to host your lunch on a different day, that's fine too.
