Roast Dinner Day 2019

Roast Dinner Day was the first Food for Life Get Together event. It took place on Wednesday 13 November 2019, and was a national day for schools, nurseries and communities to enjoy growing, cooking and eating together.

Did you host a roast in your community, with people of different generations? We want to see pictures of all the amazing things you did as part of Roast Dinner Day and you could be in with a chance of winning £100 of gardening vouchers!

This year, Roast Dinner Day was part of something even bigger... it was the first big event in our Food for Life Get Togethers programme

All you need to do is share your best photo with us, making sure something in your Food for Life Get Togethers resource pack is visible in the shot.

You can be as creative or traditional as you like - below are a few suggestions to get you thinking:

  • Pictures of event attendees under the Food for Life Get Togethers bunting
  • Everyone playing one of the games in the activity pack
  • Pupils and grandparents enjoying a home cooked lunch wearing their stickers

How to enter?

Entering is simple, all you need to do is upload a picture to Twitter. Don’t forget to tag us using @SAfoodforlife and use #FFLGetTogethers or #FFLGTCymru in Wales.

Alternatively, Food for Life schools and nurseries can upload the picture through your blog on your online portal. Don't forget to have the necessary photo permissions from parents before you upload or tweet.

You could be in with a chance of winning £100 of garden centre vouchers to buy some lovely equipment for your venue.

Who can enter?

The competition is open to all! The only stipulation is you must have registered your Roast Dinner Day Get Together here, have invited people of different ages, and have something from your free resource pack in the shot.
