Finalists announced for Food for Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standard Awards 2019

Food for Life Served Here Awards 2018 The finalists for the prestigious Food for Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standard awards 2019 have been announced.

The celebration is a chance to shine a light on the people and food providers who are making a difference and inspiring others through our healthy & sustainable catering frameworks, Food for Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standards and to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

The judges will be looking for caterers with an outstanding commitment to embedding the Food for Life Served Here standards and going above and beyond to deliver and promote meals that are higher welfare, sustainable and ethically sourced.

Winners will be chosen by an independent judging panel of experts including:
  • Professor Tim Lang, Professor of Food Policy at City University of London
  • Bee Wilson, food writer, historian and school food campaigner
  • Myles Bremner, CEO of Bremner Consulting
  • Stephen Forster, National LACA Chair
  • Lynsey Gordon, Category Manager at Scotland Excel

Ian Nutt, Associate Director Food for Life, said “2019 is a momentous year for Food for Life. It marks ten years since we launched the scheme and we now have 2 million meals per day being served by dedicated FFLSH catering teams. The public’s focus on sustainable, ethical and healthy food has never been greater and FFLSH-accredited caterers can be incredibly proud of their credentials. I can’t wait to celebrate their achievements in London in November.”

The celebrations will be held on 15th November at City Hall, London, where the winners will be announced. This will be a chance to raise a glass to the people who are serving thousands of healthy, nutritious meals across the country every day.
