Congratulations to Bath Spa University on achieving both Food for Life Served Here and the Green Kitchen Standard!
We're delighted to recognise Bath Spa, who rank second in the People and Planet Sustainability League, for meeting the rigorous criteria of both certifications. This is a huge accomplishment that truly reflects their deep, organisation-wide commitment to sustainability, responsible sourcing and healthier food environments.
We recently sat down with Emma, Sustainability Coordinator for Bath Spa University to explore the impact of achieving these certifications and what this milestone means for the university’s journey toward more sustainable catering.
I'm Emma, the Sustainability Coordinator for Bath Spa University. Bath Spa is passionate about sustainability and ensuring that our impact on people and the planet is as positive as possible. We work across all aspects of our university to ensure that we are as sustainable as possible, including our food!
We achieved Food for Life Served Here prior to COVID, and so we knew that the award demands excellence and assures our customers that the food we serve is healthy, sustainable and high quality. We wanted to take this a step further this year and apply for the Green Kitchen Standard to highlight our commitment to sustainability in all areas of our operation
It means a great deal to us! We like to prove we are walking-the-walk when it comes to our commitment to Sustainability, and the Green Kitchen Standard and Food for Life Served Here certifications prove to our customers that the catering team carefully considered the food we offer and ensure that it is as healthy, sustainable and tasty as possible!
