Schools and Early Years

Do you want to join the good food movement?

The Food for Life Award is a nationally recognised benchmark which guides settings through four areas of development to embed a good food culture: Food Quality, Food Leadership & Culture, Food Education and Community & Partnerships (with the addition of Parental Engagement for Early Years).

Why get involved?

We have worked with over 7500 schools and early years settings since 2003 and according to an independent evaluation, pupils in Food for Life schools are twice as likely to eat their five-a-day, and 45% of parents report eating more vegetables as a result of their child’s school being in the Food for Life programme.

Food for Life’s pioneering ‘whole setting approach’ means that a good food culture is embedded throughout the school, from the canteen to the classroom.
