Abel & Cole and Food for Life launch Good Food Fund

Abel & Cole have generously donated to Food for Life, supporting our work to make good food the easy choice for everyone – making healthy, tasty and sustainable meals the norm for all to enjoy, reconnecting people with where their food comes from, teaching them how it’s grown and cooked, and championing the importance of well-sourced ingredients.

James Cashmore, Director of Food for Life commented:

“Abel & Cole have been delivering organic fruit and veg boxes straight to people’s front doors for 28 years, so they really know their stuff when it comes to eating healthily at home. They are pioneers of ethically sourced, organic fruit and vegetables grown by producers who truly care about good food that's grown and made properly. Like Food for Life, caring for people, animals and the environment is at the core of everything they do. We are delighted to be working with them.”

The exciting partnership will also give schools enrolled on the Food for Life School Awards programme the opportunity to raise money by encouraging more fruit and vegetable consumption in the homes of their pupils. For every parent who decides to sign up for a weekly Abel & Cole box, Abel & Cole will kindly donate up to £50 per year to the school’s PTA.

Hannah Shipton, MD, at Abel & Cole commented:

“Food for Life has achieved some fantastic results improving the health and wellbeing of pupils, parents and wider school communities. Research shows that pupils in Food for Life schools are twice as likely to eat five a day and a third less likely to eat no fruit or vegetables than pupils in comparison schools and 45% of parents report eating more vegetables as a result of Food for Life. We are pleased to be able to support that work."
